Title: Group rhythm exercise
Type: prevention, intervention
Focus: attention span, engagement
Duration: 20 minutes
This exercise is being done in a group where people are sitting on chairs in a circle. It is a rythm exercise where we have to do together and paying attention to each other, not to be late not to be fast and not to mistaken the beat.
The exercise start with drumming with our palms on our ties 8 beats followed by 8 drumming with our feet on the ground. This is on circle. Each following circle consist of one beat less than the previous circle. When we get to only one beat the tendency changes and the beats per circle increase by one beat per circle untill we get back to 8 beat. This is the end of the exercise.
Practicing this exercise we learn to combine rhythm and counting in a manner that we pay attention to the other participants of the group. This exercise develops the group conciousness and being part of the whole.
